What is ropi.ng?
ropi.ng is a small, invite-only private network. No ads, no tracking, no public registration. You get in with an invite key from an existing member.
Is it free to use?
Yes — once you have an invite key, creating an account and using ropi.ng is completely free.
What can I do on ropi.ng?
You get a private profile page, end-to-end encrypted global chat, direct messages, custom Discord embeds, a wallet system, and alt accounts.
How do I get an invite?
You need to know someone already on ropi.ng. Each member can generate single-use invite keys to share with people they trust.
Can I invite others?
Yes — once you're in, you can generate invite keys from your dashboard to bring in people you vouch for.
What if my invite key doesn't work?
Each invite key is single-use and may have an expiry. Ask whoever sent it to generate a fresh one, or join our Discord for help.
What is a wallet?
A wallet groups your main account and all your alt accounts under one name. Create one from your dashboard — it gets its own public page at ropi.ng/wallet/yourname.
How do alt accounts work?
Once you have a wallet, a rotating 16-character code appears in your dashboard. Share it at ropi.ng/alt and someone can claim an alt username linked to your account — no invite key needed.
How many alts can I have?
Up to 10 alt accounts per wallet. You can remove alts to free up slots.
Can I hide my alts from my profile?
Yes — in your wallet settings you can toggle visibility per alias or hide all of them from your public profile.
Are messages encrypted?
Yes. All global chat and DMs are end-to-end encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Messages are encrypted in the browser before being sent — the server never sees plaintext.
Who can see my profile?
Your public profile is visible to other members. You can control what's shown — uid, join date, and badges can all be hidden from your privacy settings.
Is my data sold or shared?
Never. ropi.ng has no ads and no third-party tracking. Your data stays on the server and is never sold or shared with anyone.
